Hace unos días leía un artículo que afirmaba que el acoso laboral había crecido en España un 40% desde el inicio de la crisis. En este contexto, es una realidad que la crisis ha sumado miedo a los trabajadores y que en cierta manera, les ha convertido en víctimas potenciales que se someten con más facilidad.

 

El tema está en que las consecuencias que puede tener el acoso laboral en las personas, son muy serias pudiendo derivar en depresiones, ataques de pánico, irritabilidad, baja autoestima, etc

 

Muchas veces sin embargo, el trabajador no acaba de ser consciente de estar sufriendo una situación laboral de acoso y situaciones como la discriminación en el trato, la agresión verbal, difamación, descualificación etc, van tornándose parte de su dinámica laboral. Dinámica que a pesar de vivirse negativamente, se tiende a vivir con resignación y miedo a perder el empleo.

 

En este contexto, es de vital importancia que la persona abandone su puesto de trabajo - a poder ser tras haber llegado un acuerdo que le sea beneficioso- pues día que pase, día que más golpeada va estar su autoestima.

 

¿Pero y luego qué? ¿Cómo se afronta la búsqueda de empleo?

En mi desempeño como coach y psicóloga de desarrollo profesional, me encuentro con frecuencia, casos de personas que acuden a mi para llevar a cabo un proceso de reinvención profesional y de cambio y que antes de iniciar el proceso, tenemos que hacer un paréntesis, y reelaborar la experiencia de acoso laboral vivida para poder seguir adelante, pues el resentimiento que les está acompañando, no les está permitiendo avanzar y les sitúa en un rol de víctima que no hace más que empequeñecer su autoestima.

 

Por otro lado, muchas veces me encuentro con personas que vienen con la necesidad de hacer un cambio profesional de sector pero que luego se dan cuenta que no, que su empleo ya estaba bien y les gustaba que lo que realmente quieren es NO volver a repetir la experiencia vivida de acoso.

 

En esta línea, antes de iniciar un proceso de búsqueda de empleo o de búsqueda de vocación, es de vital importancia en estos casos, elaborar la experiencia traumática vivida y darle otra visión, otra mirada que saque al trabajador de la culpabilidad y le ayude a procesar lo vivido. Pues el pasado, pasado está, no se pude cambiar el pasado pero si se puede tener un buen presente. La vida es a veces injusta para todos y hay cosas que no podemos cambiar, hay gente que actúa injustamente porque su forma de pensar y sentir es distinta y cuando luchan por su bienestar van en contra del nuestro.

 

Obviamente, esto parece muy fácil decirlo pero todos sabemos que no es tan fácil hacerlo y que procesar dicha experiencia, sacar todo el resentimiento y la rabia y transitar la aceptación y el perdón es un trayecto, que requiere de esfuerzo y convicción. Y ojo! Que cuando hablo de perdonar, no hablo ni de olvidar ni de justificar ni de minimizar lo ocurrido, hablo de un acto que hacemos por nosotros mismos para no quedarnos estancados en el pasado pues en este sentido, perdonar es avanzar y no dejar que lo malo del pasado nos afecte en el presente.

 

Ya ahora sí, una vez trabajado el acoso, ya podemos afrontar la búsqueda de un nuevo empleo o un proceso de reinvención profesional.
